With an interesting mix of data analytics students and professionals in the audience, ‘Writing & Understanding’ explored the real-life story of a high school in New York that solved its woeful academic record by including essay-writing, not just in its English and Literature classes, but in every class throughout the school. The data suggests that writing leads to understanding.
